It’s not. Loving dangerously means setting aside what you hold dear and having faith that the best is yet to come. For Alan, it has come. For the rest of us, not yet – and therefore, we wait until the day when the best has come. Hopefully it will be a while. But until then, we have to learn to love a little more dangerously. There’s a risk to it – that’s why it’s dangerous – but that’s because it’s worth it. When our hearts are at such a risk of being broken, we are giving the gift of a whole heart to someone else.
Alan went to heaven in his sleep, unexpectedly. Rest in peace and dance in heaven, little boy, because you are now completely and even more loved than ever imaginably possible on this earth.

“I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.” -Mother Teresa
